A balance is created between an irregular-shaped form of the bowl, the controlled white lines around the edges, and the circle in the centre. The image of the prickly pear cactus is spiky, the background in white has blue and green lines like lightning while the large areas of blue have a consistent but dotted texture. Visually, it is prickly to the eyes but our sense touch encounters a silky-smooth sensation.
