In memoriam: Michael Morris

With deep sadness many Canadian and international art circles are reacting to the passing of Michael Morris at age 80. A maverick since he was 18, he expanded the concepts of Visual Art into new dimensions culminating in the creation of The Western Front Society.

As a friend of Andy Warhol, he helped to bring the exploding American art scene of the sixties and seventies to Vancouver which connected Western Canada to New York and Los Angeles. During his later life Michael spent 18 years in Berlin and became an integral part of its art scene.

A keen observer loving life, gifted with an infectious sense of humour, Michael is mourned and will be remembered by his many friends. You can learn more about Michael Morris at Wikipedia (link).
